Top Ten Must-Haves for your make-up bag

London 2 Dec 2018

Most women wear make-up everyday, which is why it is one of the most important accessories of a woman’s bag. There are 10 most important cosmetics that each one of us should have:

  • Tinted moisturiser
  • Concealer/ foundation
  • Blush/ bronzer
  • Mascara
  • Eyebrow pencil
  • Eyeliner
  • Highlighter
  • Setting powder
  • Eyeshadow
  • Lipstick

Tinted moisturise

Full makeup can move around in hot weather, so a tinted moisturiser is the perfect option for keeping skin looking fresh all day. It gives you the right amount of coverage without looking overdone. -One of my favourite tinted moisturisers that I would recommend is Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser SPF 20 (£34). A multi award winning moisturiser with 8 shades. It contains vitamins C and E and blends very easily. It creates a silky matte finish. -Bobbi Brown BB cream (£32). It is blend-able and easy to apply.

Concealer/ foundation

concealer brightens you up, hides imperfections and makes you look fresh and awake. It can be used as a primer on eyelids and lips. If you need more coverage, a light layer of foundation can also be applied. Coverage can be built up where needed. -My favourite concealer is the Too Faced Born This Way; an oil-free, buildable concealer. It reduces the appearance of dark circles and wrinkles. (£20) -Maybelline Fit Me Concealer- it is very light weight and easy to apply. It is also extra hydrating and sets quickly. (£5.99)

Blush/ bronzer

bronzer will provide you with a sun-kissed healthy glow. A bronzer with a shimmer will give your skin more radiance. -Bobbi Brown Beige Shimmer Brick is one of the best ones I’ve tried (£36) -If you’re looking for a more matte finish, go for Hoola by Benefit (£24.50). It is an award- winning pure matte bronzer. Pink and peach blush will give your skin a healthy looking flush. It brightens up your face and enhances your skin tone. It can also be used to balance a bold lipstick. -A must try is the Laura Mercier Blush Colour Infusion (£24)

who doesn’t want long, voluminous lashes? Mascara is the most important makeup tool and a product I can’t live without. It makes your eyes look bigger, and draws attention to them. -My favourite is the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Infinite Daring Length and Volume Mascara (£23). It lifts even sparse lashes, making them seem longer and darker. -Benefit They’re Real (£21.50) lengthens and thickens your lashes without drying them out.

Eyebrow Pencil/ powder

Our eyebrows frame our faces when correctly groomed. Nowadays we have a huge range of eyebrow products: waxes, glosses, gels, powers; however the classic brow pencil is irreplaceable. -The best one I’ve tried is the NYX Professional Makeup Eyebrow Powder Pencil. It is an essential as it provides a soft matte finish (£5.50)

It is an amazing way to make your eyes look larger and more defined. I personally love it. Eyeliner application often takes practice and precision, however it is worth it to finish off any look. -One of my favourites is Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place liquid liner (£21) It gives you the sexiest cat eyes ever and stays in place all day.

2018 has been the year of the breakthrough of the highlighter. Highlighter can be mixed with foundation for luminous skin, or it can be applied alone to highlight features such as cheekbones. There are many forms: power, stick, liquid. -MAC Strobecream is my favourite. It is a liquid highlighter which gives the skin a glow and warms the complexion. (£25) -Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Power is perfect for daily use for a gentle shine. It can be used on the face or body to add a light reflective shimmer. (£24)

Setting Powder

gives you an extra perfect look as it sets your foundation after application. It can also be used throughout the day to minimise oiliness of the skin. -The best setting power I’ve ever used is Natural Finish Loose Powder by Chanel. This beautiful loose powder does everything and more. It has a natural sheer matte finish. (£40)

Eyeshadow can be used to accentuate the eyes and make them stand out. In my opinion eyeshadow is one of the best ways of expressing your mood or personality. Today they are available in loose powders, creams and pencils, with an endless variety of colours. -A favourite of mine is the Charlotte Tilbury Bigger Brighter Eyes (£39). -Too Faced Natural Love is a great palette for any occasion. (£59)

Lipgloss/ Lipstick

Lipgloss is fun to wear and easy to apply, a finishing touch to any look. It can make a your makeup appear more glamorous. -One of my favourite glosses is Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre (£17.50). It is a beautiful long lasting gloss. Lipstick is a magical tool which can uplift your confidence and accentuate your features. -My favourite lipsticks are all from MAC due to their easy application and large variety of colours and finishes.
